Wish 107.5, Star Music Join Forces for Wishful 5's Career Beyond Wishcovery

Wish 107.5 and Star Music -- two of the country’s notable music industry trailblazers -- have joined hands to give a promising career to the five grand finalists of the online singing competition, Wishcovery.

On March 15, Thursday, the Wishful 5 namely Carmela Ariola, Kimberly Baluzo, Hacel Bartolome, Louie Anne Culala and Princess Sevillena have inked an exclusive two-year recording contract with Star Music.

Top executives from the ABS-CBN-owned record label, including Mr. Roxy Liquigan (Star Music Head), Mr. Jonathan Manalo (Head for Audio Content), and Atty. Marivic Benedicto (Head for Star Music Publishing and New Media for Music), joined the contract signing held at the Star Music headquarters in Quezon City.

Meanwhile, Mr. Gerardo Etorma III (Vice President for Radio) and Mr. Jay Eusebio (Vice President for TV and Marketing) represented Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International (BMPI), the company that provides and manages the content for Wish 107.5.

“It all started with a wish, and today marks the fulfilment of that wish to have this kind of partnership. We are thankful to Star Music for regarding the Wishful 5 as artists who are worth developing,” Mr. Eusebio shared with the press.

“On behalf of the Wishfuls and of the company, I am extending our gratitude. We’re seeing this opportunity as the beginning of more collaborations between Star Music and Wish in the future,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mr. Manalo stressed that both firms share the same vision when it comes to helping up-and-coming artists who deserve to be in the limelight.

“At Star [Music], we’ve always been supportive to new artists. We’re glad to give breaks to these deserving artists. And the Wishful 5 -- as how the audience have seen from the auditions up until now -- they’ve proven that they are all deserving. [Now], they’re Star Music artists and ready for recording,” he remarked.

The songwriter-producer also teased that they are now in the process of composing the original songs that will be released as the Wishfuls’ debut singles.

With the said venture, the Wishful 5 will now be labelmates with other multi-awarded local acts such as Yeng Constantino, Morissette, KZ Tandingan, Piolo Pascual, Erik Santos and Bugoy Drilon among others.

The final battle for Wishcovery’s grand finalists is set to take place on March 27, Tuesday, at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
