Wish Date Concert Series Returns with ‘Memoir’

Wish Date, the concert series, will return for its ninth edition titled “Memoir.” The event, produced by KDR Music House and inspired by the Wish radio segment of the same name, will combine film and live music.

“Memoir” will take place on October 1, 2023, Sunday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Emotionally charged performances

Among the performers who will breathe life into the movie’s soundtracks are the country’s Queen of R&B Kyla and premier OPM band Moonstar88.

TJ Monterde, the singer-songwriter behind the hits “Tulad Mo,” “Dating Tayo,” and “Plano,” will also bring his musical prowess to the stage.

“Sobrang nagulat ako nang nalaman ko ‘yung konsepto ng show. It’s not a ‘concert’ eh kasi it’s a combination of both. So, dun ko nasabi na iba talaga ang Wish 107.5. Trendsetter talaga kumbaga. Gusto niyo talagng i-try ‘yung mga bago pa,” he shared in an interview with UNTV News and Rescue.

Hinting at what the audience can expect, he expressed, “Paiiyakin at pakikiligin — music po namin ang bahala sa inyo.”

Completing the line-up of performers are KDR Music House’s Peniel and Hakki.

A story of love, friendship, and fate

“Memoir,” the short film, will meanwhile feature veteran actors Alice Dixson and Louella De Cordova. Dixson will take on the role of Jenna, a fierce lawyer. On the other hand, De Cordova will bring the character of Patricia, Jenna’s loyal friend, to life.

The story will follow Jenna’s journey of finding and losing love — and seeking closure so she can finally move forward with her life.

“I play a lawyer who has a situation… something in her life na pinagdadaanan niya. It’s about finding and losing love, trusting in what your fate will be, and, I think, life in general — you know, its ups and downs,” Dixson revealed in an interview.

Dixson and De Cordova will be joined by Joshua Dionisio, Devon Seron, and Shaira Diaz.

As with the previous editions of the series, the actors will also grace the “Memoir” stage with live acting performances.

Wish Date was last held in August, coinciding with Wish 107.5’s ninth anniversary, at the Mall of Asia Arena. The event saw musical performances from Ogie Alcasid and Adie, among others. It also showcased the acting chops of Enzo Pineda, Ayra Mariano, and Junjun Quintana.
