Wish Goes to Ateneo, Brings Music of Francis Lim, Dane Hipolito and 5th Gen
Wish 107.5 spent a day with the adorable kids of Ateneo De Manila University Grade School when the station joined The Heart at Play Foundation (THP)’s benefit concert for children with special needs held on Dec. 17 at the university’s Henry Lee Irwin Theater.
The station introduced to the Ateneo grade schoolers the Wish 107.5 Bus, which housed the performances of Francis Lim, Dane Hipolito and 5th Gen.
Francis, known as the Chinito crooner of Team Sarah in the second season of The Voice Kids, belted out Adele’s Hello and Kelly Clarkson’s Because of You. He also performed his debut single, Let Me Know, composed by his mentor, Philippines’ RnB King Jay-R.
Dane Hipolito, who has been making waves in the online music community, rendered an acoustic performance of Justin Bieber’s What Do You Mean.
Completing the set of performers was Wish 107.5 Music Awards nominee, 5th Gen. The group performed their Wish Urban Song of the Year entry “Contagious” and Sheppard’s “Geronimo”.
The Roadshow episode was even made more special as the representatives from THP boarded the bus and shared what the concert was about. Entitled “Specially Me 2: A Day In the Life Of,” the concert which is now on its second year aims to “aid the marginalized special needs community.”
The event served as a culmination of THP’s Dance Movement Therapy, an advocacy they started in 2011 aiming to boost the special needs persons’ self-esteem by dancing. Apart from the performances of international dance crews, the children themselves rendered special numbers.
Moreover, the Share-a-Wish wall welcomed the Ateneo grade school community’s wishes for others prior to the concert.
