Wishcovery’s Wishful 5, Ready to Conquer the Big Dome

With just a few days before the much-awaited grand finals night, the Wishful 5 are primed and prepped to battle it out in one of the country’s biggest concert destinations -- the Smart Araneta Coliseum -- for the chance to be hailed as the first grand champion of the country’s newest online singing competition: Wishcovery.

The Wishful 5, composed of Hacel Bartolome, Carmela Ariola, Louie Anne Culala, Kimberly Baluzo, and Princess Sevillena, went through a series of trainings to help improve their vocal abilities, develop their own styles and build confidence, and overall, help their stars burn brighter. Aside from these, the Wishful 5 were also busy preparing and rehearsing for the competition’s finale.

We sat down with the Wishfuls who shared their thoughts and feelings about their final run-throughs.

Prepping for the Finale

Wishful Carmela Ariola of Batangas shared that she spent time in researching the right song to sing for the finals night. She also said that she received new vocal tips from the resident reactors which she considers an addition to her treasure trove of musical learnings she’s collected throughout the competition – but she’s not done learning yet.

“I can say that if we can sum up all the learnings we’ve got from our trainings, we can now say that we’re ready, but we are even more willing to learn more,” Carmela added.

Meanwhile, Kimberly Baluzo, the youngest finalist of the competition, stated that she keeps her newly-arranged musical pieces for the finals on a loop. The young Bicolana belter expressed that throughout the competition, she has learned the value of performing for a crowd.

“I learned that when it comes to performing, you must truly own the stage. You should always think that every performance is your last, and you should give your best,” Kimberly shared.

Taking care of her voice is top priority for Bulacan’s very own Louie Anne Culala, who advocates having enough rest and taking in the proper amount of vitamins. Aside from watching her health and wellbeing, Louie Anne believes that their trainings and the reactors’ combined tips and suggestions through their weeks in the competition has helped prepare her for this moment.

“I think we’re ready enough because we’ve been through a lot of experiences before the grand finals. We’re now ready to conquer Araneta,” stated Louie Anne.

Hacel Bartolome, Cavite’s pride, shared a moment of epiphany that she had after the Madrigal Singers trained all 5 Wishfuls -- she realized just how much more musical learning they can all drink in as artists. And she’s delighted to let everyone better understand just what she’s learned through her grand finals’ performance.

“The grand finals night is almost here, and it’s really exciting. I can’t wait to perform on Tuesday,” Hacel enthused.

Lastly, Makati’s Princess Sevillena, the Wishful who emerged victorious from the Wild Card edition of the contest, revealed that for her and the other Wishfuls, the grand finals night is not just about competition. She said that for her, the finale will be a fun concert that she’ll stage with her friends.

“We’re so blessed that even if we’re almost at the end of this competition, the pressure that we feel is less because we’re working together as one unit, as a team,” Princess concluded.

The Wishcovery Grand Finals will be held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 7:30 pm.
