Wishdependence Day: A Day of Freedom, Fun, and Free Music

Wish 107.5 celebrated the Philippine Independence Day, June 12, with its loyal listeners with an ultimate park adventure race during the day and a free music concert in the evening at the Enchanted Kingdom in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The event kicked off with the launching of the Wish 1075 Club, an exclusive group for the station’s fans and listeners and comes with perks such as exclusive promos, freebies, and behind-the-scene footages of Wish jocks and guest performers.

Participants of the race were automatically the first members of the Wish 107.5. Club. Other people in the park were also eager to join the club and promptly signed up in the registration booth.

A Wishing Wall was also set up beside the registration booth where passers-by wrote their wishes, from the simplest to the most impossible ones.

The ultimate park adventure race started early in the afternoon.  Six teams, representing each program of Wish 107.5 competed – going through obstacles, solving puzzles, and conquering the park’s most extreme rides.

Despite the scorching summer heat, all the participants did their best to win the race, but in the end, Wish Jock Jelly Kiss’s Team Roadshow emerged victorious. Team Wonderland of Wish Jock Princess Leigh and Alice came in second and Wish Jock Faye’s Team Wishpers of Love, third. Freebies and cash were given as prices – P12, 000 for the first placers; P10, 000 for the second; P 8, 000 for the third; and P 5, 000 consolation price for the other teams.

Immediately after the awarding of the race’s winners, a free concert was held at the park’s Spaceport Zone, headlined by famous rock band Sponge Cola. The band performed their hits “Tambay” and “Bitiw”, alongside with their newest single “Move On."

Meanwhile, teen Idol Joshua Dionisio susprised the crowd with a seranade, singing hits such as “Lost Stars” and The Script’s “For The First Time.”

Emerging start such as Lunar Lights, The Voysing and Shanne Velasco also gave outstanding performances to entertain the excited wishers and Enchanted Kingdom patrons.

The Wishdependence Day ended with a beautiful and colorful fireworks lighting up the night sky; an awesome conclusion to a day of freedom, fun, and free music.
