YouTube PH Year-End Report: Wish 107.5 is Number 1

According to the official year-end report released by YouTube Philippines, Wish 107.5 is the number 1 channel among the local YouTube content creators who grew rapidly in 2016, adding a total of 439, 407 new followers.

The statistic, which brought the total number subscribers of Wish 107.5’s YouTube channel to 626,000 (as of writing) since its launch in July 2014, shows that the page tallied a nearly 236% increase in the size of its fast-growing online community.

The FM station’s YouTube channel is home to over 400 “WISHclusive” videos that feature Filipino talents and a number of foreign acts, such as Rex Smith, reggae groups Big Mountain and Inner Circle, and acclaimed Whitney Houston tribute singer Belinda Davids.

Most of these performances were filmed on board the Wish 107.5 Bus, the country’s one and only FM radio mobile booth. Equipped with state-of-the-art audio and video facilities, the roving music hub has the capacity to stage and broadcast live, ticketless road concerts.

For the past year, the channel has become a sought-after platform to introduce an artist’s music to a much wider audience. Most of the videos uploaded on the page regularly garner several reaction videos from YouTubers across the globe, praising both the innovative concept of the Wish 107.5 Bus and the artistry of the music acts.

Some of the WISHclusives found on the FM YouTube channel has also earned the nod of local entertainment figures and international music stars. Darren Espanto’s cover of “Chandelier” has been praised by the likes of Nicki Minaj and Jessie J while Bugoy Drilon’s performance of “One Day” has been lauded by no other than the hit’s original singer, Matisyahu.

As of writing, the channel has nearly 224,000,000 accumulated views. The roster of its subscribers comprises netizens from the country and other Asian countries like South Korea and Japan to as far as the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Spain and Brazil.

As the station has steadily reaped overwhelming results from its digital platforms this year, it will be staging the 2nd Wish 107.5 Music Awards (WMA) with the theme “Your WISHclusive Gateway to the World” to serve as a fitting tribute to the true heroes behind this feat.

The 2nd WMA will be held on January 16, 2017, 7:30 PM at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum. Fans and Wishers can support their favorite nominees by casting their votes via www.wish1075.com/wishawards. Polling period kicked off last December 16, 12 noon, and will end on January 16, 12 noon.

Wish 107.5 promises to create more digital innovations that will put Original Pilipino Music (OPM) to global limelight and help Filipino artists receive the highest recognition they deserve.
