Life’s best moments are made even better with music. 

In “Wish upon a Sun,” a digital concert mounted by Wish 107.5 and Sun Life Philippines on December 10, Friday, this very art form became central in helping the audience express their gratitude to their “partners for life.”

During the event, select viewers got the chance to have their song dedications performed by the country’s top musical acts, including ‘90s OPM star Barbie Almalbis, veteran pop-rock outfit The Itchyworms, pop band The Juans, and folk singer-songwriter syd hartha.

These OPM-makers granted the audience’s musical wishes aboard the Wish 107.5 Bus.

The songs were gathered weeks prior to the concert. Using the hashtags #SunLifeWishUponASun and #SunLifeSongRequest, the public mentioned their song dedications for their loved ones, together with their special messages for them. 

Sandy Dalisay, one of the requesters who got her song wish granted, dedicated the Almalbis-hit “Just a Smile” to her partner, Bernard. 

“I would like to dedicate this song to my partner for life. You really save my day with just a smile. No matter how difficult a day goes by, it just gets easier with you by my side. Thank you!,” she said.

Meanwhile, Kareena Alano requested The Itchyworms’ “Ayokong Tumanda” for her partner, Ian Kris Español. Her message read: “To my partner for 16 years now and the one I wanted to be my partner for life. Ayokong tumanda kung hindi ka kasama.”

‘Partner for Life’

In their latest campaign dubbed “Partner for Life,” Sun Life showcases their brand as a reliable partner in every stage of Filipinos’ lives.

For Sun Life, the virtual concert, which coincides with the holiday season, is a special way of honoring the audience’s own partners in life.

“In these uncertain times, families and friends have truly been our partners in making [our] lives brighter,” Sun Life Philippines CEO and Country Head Benedict Sison said in his special message, emphasizing the sunny role that our loved ones play. 

In an earlier statement, Sun Life Philippines President Alex Narciso remarked that the concert is also the company’s “way of thanking [their] clients for choosing [them] to be their partner for life in their financial journey.”

Sun Life Ambassadors Piolo Pascual, Inigo Pascual, Matteo Guidicelli, and Charo Santos-Concio also graced the event as they shared their holiday greetings and well-wishes for the audience and Sun Life’s clients, advisors, and employees.

Apart from the granting of song requests, the “Wish upon a Sun” event also gave away exciting prizes to lucky raffle draw winners. 

The prizes include Php10,000 worth of Sun Life Prosperity Card investment funds; work-from-home packages inclusive of a laptop table, a USB flash drive, and a tumbler; wellness packages that consist of a yoga mat, wooden yoga blocks, and earbuds; and Php15,000 worth of digital vouchers.
